How do you know which surgery to take? An in-folder, in-out-folder, or out-folder?
If the eyelid line in the inner corner of the eyes is not clearly visible due to Mongolian lines from the Mongolian fold, it is an in-folder. If it is located right on the Mongolian fold, it is an out-folder. To obtain an out-folder like those of the Westerners, you should undergo the epicanthoplasty and remove the Mongolian folds. For Koreans, they don’t have depressed characteristics of the eyes and nose so the out-folder may turn out unnatural in structural and operational methods. But an in-out-folder can turn out to be relatively natural and is highly recommended. And many concern about whether to take the epicanthoplasty or not. It is definite that the Mongolian fold determines the type of double eyelid crease and so, proper epicanthoplasty must to be accompanied for making a natural in-out, or out-folder.

Height of the double eyelid
It is not true that only large double eyelids make big and beautiful eyes. Because thickness or fat around structure of skin is different in many people, proper height is also different. The most important key for natural eyes depends on the height of the double eyelid. An inadequate height can disturb functioning of the eyes (opening and closing the eyes) and will swell for a long time, and even look as if you have drowsy looking eyes.
Suggestions for a suitable eyelid
1. Eyes that look swollen and puffy.
Puffy eyelids are common for Korean women. These eyes are formed when the fat in an eyeball socket is abundant or the Orbicularis Oculi muscle is thick, or when the orbital skeleton is protruded around the eyes. In these kinds of eyes, it is needed to make the eyelid thinner so an accurate measurement of your eye is very important.
Operational plans have to be made by determining what the reasons are for the eyes to look swollen. Then, the eyelid must be fixed. The fat may be removed, the skin and muscle may be cut, and additional operations must be taken. In cases where the patient has a severe Mongolian fold, the Magic Epicanthoplasty must be done at the same time.

2. Eyes that originally have thin eyelid skin
When eyes have a thin eyelid and a weak Mongolian fold, a natural eyelid can be made by only a simple operation such as the buried suture method. There will be no scar remained because the eyelid is not really cut, and a natural double eyelid can be made. In this case, patients are usually satisfied with their existing eyes and hesitate to take an operation, but the result is so good and their satisfaction is usually higher.

3.Overlapping of double eyelid creases
The eyes look very tired if many lines exist on the eyelid. This line is very different from the ordinary, typical eyelid lines, and most of them form as wrinkles and the traces of wrinkle are remained even when closing the eyes. By fixing lines as one to the proper height, the remaining wrinkles disappear naturally.

4.Eyes with damaged skin by using adhesives like Eyecharm(tape forming double eyelid) or glue. Most women use glue or Eyecharm tapes to make temporary double eyelids, but using this can cause the skin to hang down and create weak elasticity of the eye skin. A healthy eyelid must have tension without wrinkles even when the eyes are closed.
If glue or tape is used repetitively on the eye, the skin will hang down and thickening of the skin may also occur. Because of this, the eyelid skin of teenagers looks often as those of the 30s. The habit of gluing your eyes to make temporary eyelids is not an easy habit to fix.
Accurate measurement and selection of the proper operation methods(excisional, incisional, or buried suture method) must be done depending on the degree of drooping of the skin.

5.Eyes that form double eyelids only from time to time
This is a case that occurs to people who have thin eyelids and a strong Mongolian fold. It is formed when the eyes get tired. To fix this problem, the taking the buried suture method is the best way.
